Norwegian Cookies - Kinglas
Eva Bravick invites you to join her at the family farm in the beautiful Norwegian countryside near Krokane in Trdal. It is a cold winter afternoon and the snow is softly falling.
After an invigorating afternoon of cross-country skiing, make yourself at home in front of the roaring fire. Eva will serve you hot coffee and delicious kringlas. She will also offer you a variety of Christmas cookies. Recipe compliments of Georgianne Bravik. All photos compliments of Tormod Holte.

NORWEGIAN
10 T. sm¯r (oleo)
1 1/4 kopp sukker
1 kopp kjernemelk
1 egg
1 ts. vanilje
3 1/4 kopp mel
2 1/2 ts. Bakepulver
1 tsp. Natron
1 1/4 ts. salt
1/2 ts. kardemomme (pulver)
Bland alle ingrediensene. Stek ved 450ƒF (230ƒC) i 5 minutter. Stek (grill) til den er brun.
ENGLISH
Ingredients:
1 1/4 sticks butter (oleo)
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 cup buttermilk
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/4 cups flour
2 1/2 tsps. Baking powder
1 tsp. Baking soda
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. Cardamom (crushed)
Combine all ingredients. Roll out and make figure 8's. Bake @ 450f for 5 minutes. Broil until brown.
