The Culture Club Update
from NCLRC

Farewell to the Culture Club

Budget cuts are wreaking havoc across the nation, and the language resource centers funded by the U.S. Department of Education are feeling the crunch as well. I am very sorry to announce that the Culture Club will be suspended for the 2011-2012 academic year. It will remain online for you to access but no new materials will be added during this time.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have worked very hard over the years to enrich this cultural resource for language teachers. I could not begin to name names because there are so many of you. Let me say that it has been a real pleasure to work with all of you dedicated teachers.

I would also like to thank all of our faithful readers who have been a true inspiration. I have enjoyed getting to know many wonderful people through the Culture Club. I hope that the Culture Club will be reactivated next year. In the meantime, feel free to contact me at melonicf@gmail.com.
Arrivederci!
